OUR BOAT - FRANZIS Our sailboat is called Franzis and it is 13 metres long. It was made in 1984 in France. It was constructed for ocean regattas and thus it is a robust and safe cruising - regatta sailboat. Three different sails enable her to sail in wind. There are solar panels, which produce electric power for the boat, installed on the deck. A big bimini top protects the crew from the sun. 2 CABINS AND 2 BATHROOMS In the front part of the sailboat there is a spacious cabin with its own bathroom. A double bed and a wardrobe offer comfortable accommodation for two people. The second cabin, located at the back of the sailboat, is reserved for the skipper and suitable for one big or two shorter people. SALOON This is the central part of the sailboat. There are four beds in the saloon, once used by skippers during exhausting navigation. A large table in the middle of the saloon seats 7 adults and offers space for gatherings in bad weather. KITCHEN The kitchen consists of a big gas cooker, two refrigerators and a big worktop. It provides a lot of space to prepare various meals. CHART TABLE This part of the boat provides place to monitor the weather forecast, control electricity level and read nautical charts. The chart table is used to write a ship's log. Here we record important information, such as a sailing distance, wind strength, wave height and other interesting things that happen during the day. LOCATION The boat is located in Izola, Slovenia. We are close to Croatia (10 miles) and Italy (10 miles). ACTIVITIES - WHAT TO DO? If the weather permits we sail to Croatia (e.g. Novigrad, Rovinj). Despite sailing we can use a SUP, windsurf and wingsurf equipment. There are 2 SUPs, a windsurf rig and one wing on the boat.
