Do you need a license to hire a boat in Tenerife?

To hire a motorboat with more than 15hp and a length of more than 5 meters, a license will be mandatory. In the case of a sailboat, if the boat is longer than 6 meters, then you’ll be required to hold a license. In either case, you will need to present a nautical CV that shows your previous sailing experience along with the waters you’ve navigated. If you do not hold the necessary qualifications or experience, you can always choose to hire a boat with a skipper.
