Great is a good description of Yelkenli Yachting. The boat was nice and clean, all the gear was ready to go and the staff were informative and friendly. The boat we hired was fairly new and in great condition.

Fantastic company to deal with. Seamless from beginning to end. The yacht was in great order extremely well maintained and equipped. Ercan and his team were very friendly and professional. I will be using this company again and have no hesitation in recommending them.

Excellent week sailing the Datcha peninsula. Found the yacht to be in very good condition and a comfortable design easily accommodating our party of 6. Sam Sailing team very helpful and welcoming and available always for queries and support. Would not hesitate to book another charter with Sam Sailing again, hopefully not before too long.

Thank you to our Bodrum contact Umit and our excellent captain/ chef Mustafa for a flawless catamaran charter, our first with young children. Everything went smoothly including jetty pick up from our hotel for 4 days on board! beautiful bays to swim and enjoyable time at sea. We were not expecting 3 delicious, fresh meals a day to be provided! So kind. We had sent a ‘shopping list’ and all was provisioned with receipts. We anchored most evenings or took tender into shore. The Catamaran was spacious, clean and safety was first. No AC on Akik but refreshing with hatches open. We found SamBoat by far the best charter website (from UK), with responsive contact with an English speaking actual person!! plus follow up when we arrived in Turkey. By far the best price given as boat was listed on other popular sites who didn’t engage just automatically demanded payment without responding to my queries. Umit (Gala Yachting Bodrum) the skipper and Sam Boat are recommended.

We chartered a monohull for a family holiday and the entire Sailfleet team were fantastic. The staff were highly professional and knowledgeable, while also being flexible when we had some delays on our return. The boat was also very well maintained and made for a great holiday! Iain

Had a very good experience, with love sail, our 7th year of chartering and first in Turkey with love sail. Found them friendly & accommodating. We were able to pay for early check in & boat was as described. Yacht classic hotel as a base is great with very nice facilities before & after charter. Check out was thorough but we had no problems with the boat. Overall can’t fault the service. Thank you

Boat availability in Turkey will be lower in the summer months of June to September as this is the tourist season, where temperatures are higher as well as prices, and this is also the peak season for cruise ships. However, Turkey also has icy winters, which means that skiing is possible in Turkey, so there can be a number of tourists present during the winter months too. Republic Day occurs during October, which can create extremely large crowds and it is important to plan around this day if you plan to visit Turkey during this time.

According to Turkish law, every skipper must have an approved skipper license in order to charter a boat in Turkey and should also have previous experience on boats of a similar size. Overview of Turkey

Being situated between Asia and Europe, Turkey offers a unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures. Rich in history, Turkey offers some stunning landscapes and historical sites, including the city of Troy, the Hagia Sophia and the city of Ephesus. However, if you are going to Turkey looking for a beautiful sailing holiday, then you will be exploring the coastal areas, including areas such as Bodrum, which is located on the Aegean coast. As with many other sailing areas in Turkey, such as Fethiye and Gocek, Bodrum is famous for its beautiful waters, beaches and ancient ruins including the Bodrum castle.

If you are visiting Turkey for a while, you must head over to visit Istanbul, home to some of the most iconic landmarks in the world, including the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. Not only that but the city is made up of many different cultures and religions taken from the continents of Asia and Europe which make it a must-see destination.

One of Turkey’s most famous traits is its cuisine. A fusion of Middle Eastern, Central Asian and Mediterranean flavours, the bold spices and ingredients used make the food unique to many other cuisines across the world. Some popular dishes include meze, baklava and kebabs, with street food being a popular part of Turkish cuisine.

Some of the popular sailing areas nearby include:

  • Marmaris
  • Antalya
