Por ley, todos los barcos sin licencia tienen el mismo motor (15 HP) y por tanto el peso de la embarcación influye en la velocidad. Las neumáticas son más ligeras que las lanchas de fibra y gracias a esto navegan notablemente más deprisa. Otra ventaja es que el consumo de combustible es más reducido que el de los barcos rígidos.
