The condition of the boat was borderline poor for a charter, with numerous defects (missing mainsail traveler, eroded lower shrouds, stiff tiller, tinkered lock and replaced refrigerator door seal, inoperative solar panels, inefficient batteries, patched-up dinghy, outdated trampoline mounting, etc.). Safety issues were also limited (no shackle to attach the emergency anchor to the emergency chain, no cable cutters, a hacksaw provided at the last minute). Cleaning was carried out too quickly (greasy drips on the bulkheads, dirty and smelly under-sink cabinets, etc.) compared to the requested cleaning fee. Fortunately, no damage or navigational difficulties occurred in very calm sea conditions.
