Really pleasant sailing area, mostly sheltered thanks to the island of Oléron. Many points of interest to discover (Fort Boyard, Ile d'Aix, Ile d'Oléron with its small marina in Boyardville, Ile de Ré, ...). Very pleasant also to sail near other magnificent sailboats quite numerous in the bay.
Zone de navigation vraiment agréable, en majeur partie abrité grâce à l'ile d'Oléron. De nombreux points d'intérêts à découvrir (Fort Boyard, Ile d'Aix, Ile d'Oléron avec notamment son petit port de plaisance à Boyardville, Ile de Ré, ...). Très agréable aussi de naviguer près d'autres magnifiques voiliers assez nombreux dans la baie.

When the sea is a little rough, it is rather advisable to go towards the north (the Landes beaches). The coast is less original, seen from the sea but the return will be easier....
Lorsque la mer est un peu agitée, il est plutôt conseillé d(aller vers le nords ( les plages landaises). La côte est moins originale, vue de la mer mais le retour sera plus facile....
