Welcome to the Mediterranean, in the Gulf of Lion. ENSUI ("Salt Water" in Japanese) is a well-equipped and meticulously maintained sailboat, from sails and engine to hull and cabins. She is based at Port-Camargue — the marina for Le Grau-du-Roi — just a short sail from delightful weekend destinations like Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Sète, Cap d'Agde, and La Grande-Motte. She is also close to the beaches of the Camargue (Espiguette, Beauduc) and Languedoc (Petit and Grand Travers, Aresquiers, Maguelonne, Lido de Thau), which offer lovely spots for daytime anchoring. Visiting the French Riviera, Corsica, the Balearic Islands, or Catalonia requires about two to three weeks (and a favorable weather window) to truly enjoy the experience. ENSUI is moored right next to a large free parking area that remains accessible even in summer. Restrooms and showers are just 50 meters away. A shopping center (supermarket, bakery, butcher, fishmonger's, restaurants, bars, and takeaway food) is within 200 meters. Access to the pontoon is secure. Port fees at Port-Camargue are included in the rental price. ENSUI sleeps six (two cabins with double beds and two berths in the saloon). She comfortably accommodates a couple with children or two couples without children. Onboard equipment and utensils allow for cooking for six people. The hull is regularly antifouled, and the sails are recent. The Bavaria 30 Cruiser is designed for cruising, not racing! Her average speed is between 4 and 6 knots. It is wise to limit daily sailing distances to around twenty nautical miles (thirty-five for those who love getting up early and going to bed late !). ENSUI is equipped for "Offshore" (Hauturier) navigation. Self-inflating life jackets (hydrostatic system) with safety harness are provided on board. I recommend wearing them as soon as you leave the harbor. The boat is equipped with jacklines, and the safety equipment is regularly serviced. Both the mainsail (2026) and the genoa (2024) are on furlers, making ENSUI easy to handle for one or two people. The same applies to the spinnaker, which is asymmetrical. The 14 kg anchor and 56 meters of chain allow for anchoring in depths of 5 to 12 meters. Minimum sailing experience is required.
